Most website projects that drag on are not slow because of the build. They are waiting on content: photos, prices, text and decisions. Preparing a few things before you start can cut weeks off the timeline.
1. A list of what you sell
Write down every service or product you want on the site, with a sentence or two about each and a price or price range if you are comfortable sharing it. It does not have to be polished. The web designer can tidy it up, but only you know what you actually offer.
2. Real photos
Photos of your shop, your team, your work and your products do more for trust than any stock image. Recent phone photos in good light are fine. Gather them into one folder rather than sending them one by one over WhatsApp.
3. Your logo and colours
Send the highest-quality logo file you have, ideally the original from whoever designed it. If you do not have one, say so early. We can recommend a designer we work with.
4. Basic business details
Your registered business name, address, opening hours, phone and WhatsApp number, email, and links to your social pages and Google Business Profile. These need to be the same everywhere, because Google uses them to trust your listing.
5. Two or three websites you like
They do not need to be in your industry. Pointing at sites you like, and saying what you like about them, is the fastest way to explain the style you want.
6. Your domain, if you already have one
If you bought a domain years ago, find out who it is registered with and whether you can log in. Getting access to an old domain can take a while, so start early.
That is it. With these ready, a one-page site can be live within days. If you are missing some of them, message us anyway. We will tell you what is essential and what can wait.
